Setup the internet on Apple Mac OS X.

System Requirements

  • USB 2 port (Type A)
  • A SIM card with an Australia On Line 3G mobile broadband internet plan
  • Apple Mac OS X 10.3.7 or newer.

Installing the SIM card

  1. Remove the end-cap from the USB modem.
  2. Remove the SIM card slot located above the USB connector.
  3. Insert the SIM card into the card slot.
  4. Return the card slot to the USB modem.

Installing the USB modem

  1. Turn your computer on.
  2. Wait until OS X has completely loaded.
  3. Plug the modem into your computer:

    Option A

    Plug the modem USB interface directly into any USB port on your computer.

    Option B (for improved signal quality)

    Connect the modem USB interface to the supplied USB cable.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable to any USB port on your computer.

  4. After you plug the modem or cable into your computer, the computer will automatically detect the new device.
  5. Detecting the USB modem might take several minutes while the driver software installs.
  6. Do not attempt to open or start the installation of the modem as doing so might damage the modem.
  7. After the USB modem is detected, double-click Wireless Broadband.app.

  8. Click OK to install the Wireless Broadband.
    The Mobile Connect application has been moved.
  9. Click Continue past the Welcome screen.

  10. Read the license agreement.
  11. Click Agree to agree to the license agreement and continue.

  12. Click Macintosh HD then Continue to choose the common install destination.
    Select a Destination.
  13. Click Install to continue past the Easy Install screen.
    Easy Install on 'Macintosh HD'.
  14. Type your password in and click OK to authenticate.
    Authenticate.
  15. The wireless broadband software will then setup on your computer.
  16. Click Close when the setup is complete.
    The software was successfully installed.
  17. Type your service provider code 357i4 in and click OK to activate.
    Please enter SP code.

Connecting to Australia On Line

  1. In your Applications folder, double-click Wireless Broadband.app.
    Wireless Broadband.app.
  2. Click Connect on the Wireless Broadband screen.
    Wireless Broadband connect.
  3. Type your password in and click OK to authenticate.
    Authenticate.
  4. Click OK to close the connection successful message.
    Connection successful.
  5. You are now connected to the internet.
  6. When connected, the Connect button on the Wireless Broadband window becomes a Disconnect button.
  7. Disconnection will only occur if:
    • the Disconnect button on the Wireless Broadband window is clicked
    • the modem loses signal
    • the computer shuts down or "sleep" mode is activated
